This Is War: CBC Declares Open Season on Independent Voices CBC Leads the Authoritarian Charge
Well, people, the corrupt Canadian media is showing its true colours again, openly attempting to destroy the lives of independent creators who dare to challenge their narratives. Take the recent case of “Real Talk Politiks,” a hyper successful YouTube channel targeted by none other than our taxpayer-funded broadcaster, the CBC.
Yes, that CBC the same one we're told we can “trust with unbiased, reliable news, the safe and effective journalists”. Frankly, I wouldn't trust anyone working there or any other Canadian media that is not independent as far as I could throw them, and it's becoming painfully clear why. They’re a complete joke, they have been for some time but this past two weeks takes the cake.
The CBC is currently celebrating because YouTube obediently shut down this popular Canadian channel. Why? Simply put, the channel grew too influential, too quickly, and had the audacity to question and challenge the mainstream narrative dictated by Canada's so called "trusted" broadcaster. Apparently, in Canada, "free speech" now only means you're free as long as you strictly echo the CBC’s approved perspectives. Step outside their sanctioned views, and you become a target and you run the risk of the police showing up at your door.
This disturbing move is not just concerning; it’s outright dangerous, indicating a far deeper, scarier direction for our society. It signals the true decline of a country that was once proudly celebrated worldwide as one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family. When a publicly funded media organization aggressively targets independent Canadian voices, openly celebrating their silencing, every Canadian should feel alarmed. This is not a moment for quiet resignation; it’s a moment to be shouting warnings from every rooftop’s like so many of us have been since we got wind of Bill 63.
“The channel racked up almost 70 million views from April 3 to April 30, according to data from ViewStats.com. It's currently the third-most viewed Canada-based news and politics channel over the last three months.” (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/canada-politics-youtube-channel-taken-down-1.7542250)
When taxpayer-funded institutions like the CBC assume the roles of judge, jury, and executioner of free expression, we cross a very dangerous threshold into authoritarianism. From my perspective, if we remain passive, Canada will fully embrace authoritarian governance by the end of 2025. This isn’t alarmist speculation, fear mongering or over exaggeration it’s an observation grounded in recent history and current trajectory.
Let’s take a closer look at history; it is filled with stark, painful examples of what happens when populations are controlled and independent thought is systematically eliminated. Suppressing free speech has always been a prelude to far darker times oppressive regimes, widespread persecution, unchecked power, and horrific abuses of human rights.
We see this chilling pattern from Stalin’s Soviet Union, to Mao’s China, to numerous other repressive regimes throughout history. Today, that historical pattern is becoming visible right here in Canada. We have an iron curtain and the general public has no damn clue this is even happening.
Bill 63 is next and looming ominously in the distance, deceptively framed as an "Online Harms Act."
LIES, LIES, LIES.
Don't be fooled; it promises to grant even more extensive powers to bureaucrats and censors to silence voices deemed inconvenient or disagreeable by the government. This bill could allow authorities to criminalize legitimate criticism and discourse, effectively criminalizing dissent. Take a look at the UK, over 4000 people have been arrested for online content. When we allow the government to dictate what opinions are acceptable, we don’t just lose independent media voices we lose the heart of democracy itself. Canada is spiralling toward a disturbing reality where independent thought, disagreement, or even tweets contrary to government approved messages might lead to legal or social persecution.
Bill 63 is not a bill about safety it's a bill about submission. It doesn’t protect Canadians from harm; it protects the powerful from accountability. If passed, it would allow government appointed regulators to determine what is "harmful," giving them sweeping authority to shut down discourse, ban creators, and erase criticism. It weaponizes vague language to silence anyone who pushes back, whether through journalism, content creation, or political debate. We are on the verge of codifying censorship into law and that should terrify every freedom loving Canadian.
The CBC’s role in orchestrating the downfall of independent channels isn't just troubling it's morally reprehensible. Canadians fund this organization through hard-earned taxes with the expectation of objective, balanced reporting, not state-sponsored propaganda. Instead, CBC leverages its privileged position and taxpayer funds to suppress competitors and maintain control over the national conversation.
I’d like nothing more than to see the communications between CBC and YouTube; what threats or pressure were applied to achieve this disturbing outcome without genuine evidence of wrongdoing?
CBC, you have become everything you claim to stand against: the censor, the gatekeeper, and now the unapologetic suppressor of independent Canadian voices. This isn't journalism; it’s blatant, state backed propaganda, tearing apart the essential fabric of what was once a proudly free and open society.
Wake up, Canada. Our freedoms are not merely slipping away quietly they're being stripped from us loudly, blatantly, and unapologetically by the very institutions that pretend to serve us. If we fail to act now, we risk losing not only our voice but also the very foundations of freedom and democracy that generations before us fought and sacrificed to secure. The time for passive observation is over; it's time to stand up, speak out, and fight for our fundamental rights before they are irretrievably lost.
The CBC has never served us. Its only job is to manipulate you and none of us will forget what you’ve helped do to this country.
You’re nothing but over paid bullies and under rated propagandist.
