Canada’s Spineless Multiculturalism
Why tolerating cultural extremism, double standards, and refusing integration is tearing Canada apart from the inside.
Let's begin with a thought experiment: imagine packing your bags and landing in Saudi Arabia or Iran, determined to behave exactly as you do in Canada. Would you as a Canadian woman wear short shorts and bikinis at their beaches or walked into a mosque in a dress? Would you loudly demand everyone accommodate your language, customs, and values? Would you protest in the streets demanding everyone follow your customs from the country you just fled. Would you openly criticize local traditions or refuse to respect religious practices? How quickly do you think you'd face consequences?…. I’ll tell you, you wouldn’t last a day before you would be arrested or worse in some of the middle eastern countries. Woman, I’d give you 1-2 hours before the moral police beat you with in an inch of your life or worse.
My grandfather fled Hungary when the Soviets invaded in 1956, dodging bullets, surviving imprisonment, and risking everything to reach freedom. When he finally arrived in Canada, he didn’t demand Canada become Hungary. Instead, he did something radical by today’s standards, he learned English, adopted Canadian values, worked tirelessly, and integrated fully. He didn’t cling desperately to a past he fought to escape; he embraced a new, better future. That’s assimilation, and it’s why nation’s thrive. I don’t want to hear “Kelsi you're islamophobic!” No I’m not, not a single bit. I’m uncomfortably honest, I’ve seen what some of these cultures that are coming to Canada are really about up close and personal, and I’m not having it. I’m just say what everyone else says in their kitchens over a beer, at their kid’s birthday’s and their hockey games on Saturday’s. I’m absolutely done pretending our country isn’t being replaced and if you lived in Canada or bare to look around, you would see it too.
Yet somehow, Canada and Canadian’s alike are terrified of even asking immigrant’s to even speak basic English. I’m not talking about the immigrants who work hard, respect Canadian values, and proudly contribute. I'm calling out those who refuse integration, pushing ideologies incompatible with basic human right’s. Those who want to impose Sharia law, child marriage, honour killings, or other medieval, vial customs on Canadian soil thinking they can get away with it.
I often wonder why Canada is pretending this isn't a problem? Countries across the globe, including Japan, Switzerland, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Australia unashamedly demand integration, respect for local customs, and language proficiency. Yet Canada act’s like asserting any standard at all is akin to fascism and destruction of their civil rights. Right which they have because we gave them to them. Ironic.
History continues to provides brutal clarity about the consequences of failed integration, yet we do what most Canadian’s do and say “that would never happen here!” This is delusional at best. Lebanon, once called the "Paris of the Middle East," fell apart into decades-long sectarian civil war precisely because cultural and religious groups isolated themselves rather than integrating. Yugoslavia violently imploded into genocide and ethnic cleansing when multiculturalism fractured unity into tribal hatred. Europe today offers clear lessons and since Carney has made it clear he want’s to follow in the EU footsteps, we should know better. Sweden faces exploding crime and violence due to unchecked cultural enclaves. France and Germany struggle with segregated neighbourhoods where radical ideologies flourish, violence surges, and social cohesion collapses. Belgium struggles with increasing areas designated as “no go zones”, where even police hesitate to enter due to violent crime and radicalization. The UK has seen horrifying spikes in honour killings, forced marriages, and grooming gangs, all outcomes of refusing to confront cultural isolation and enforce integration.
Canada arrogantly believes it can defy history somehow, like we’re the exception to the rule but it's already happening here. Streets in once peaceful Canadian cities are increasingly unsafe, cleanliness is deteriorating, homelessness is surging, and violence rises sharply. AK 47’s In the streets, open distain and disgust toward the flag and nation that gave them new homes, free healthcare, homes, pay cheques every month and people spit on the REAL Canadian tax payer when they burn our flag on the steps of our government. Our healthcare system, once world renowned, buckles and collapses under the weight of uncontrolled immigration that has no plan on slowing, while Canadians die on waiting lists every day.
Housing has become unattainable for ordinary Canadians as foreign speculation pushes prices sky high, forcing lifelong citizens into financial exile from their own communities. A great example of this is Vancouver BC and Richmond or as some joke “hongcouver” Surrey is India and the middle east, Brampton Ontario is India, Winnipeg has become Somalia. Entire areas where English isn’t seen or spoken for km’s.
Culturally, Canada’s identity isn’t just rapidly eroding, it’s completely gone. Politicians and Carney’s disastrous cabinet bow before demand’s from groups who openly reject Canadian values. Instead of integration, we witness intentional cultural segregation. We're told we must tolerate extremist views under the guise of multiculturalism, inclusion, even when those views include oppressive religious laws, gender inequality, and practices we rightfully condemn abroad, like child brides.
Canadians are becoming strangers in their own home, their rights and traditions sacrificed to placate those who openly disdain Canadian society. This isn't diversity it’s cultural suicide masked as virtue signalling, cowardice disguised as compassion.
Weak people to afraid to say the hard part’s but instead will allow everything they built collapse around them in fear’s someone won’t like them because they were honest. Canadian politeness will be the reason for its fall. We will “sorry” ourselves into oblivion.
Ask yourself honestly: would any other nation allow newcomers to impose harmful practices on their citizens? Would any country tolerate its own cultural erosion? Absolutely not.
Multiculturalism without integration isn’t progressive; it's destructive, disrespectful and dangerous. We’re not helping immigrants by allowing them to replicate here the oppression they escaped elsewhere. We’re betraying both Canadian’s and immigrant’s who genuinely seek a better life.
Real compassion means empowering immigrants to succeed by embracing Canadian values of freedom, equality, and human dignity, not enabling enclaves that perpetuate oppression. Real responsibility means setting clear boundaries and expectations, being honest when gang’s from other countries come here and parade through our streets, acting like they’re untouchable.
It’s time our police reach out and touch them. Enough is enough.
If Canada want’s to even have a chance at surviving the next decade with a sliver of identity left, we have to be honest and demand assimilation unapologetically regardless of how uncomfortable it might be. Canadians first. Integration isn't oppression it’s about having respect for our nation and those that are born here, pay taxes here, serve here and make Canada what it is. Canadian. Setting clear expectations isn't hateful, it’s protecting what our generation and this before us built.
Anything less is a betrayal of every immigrant like my grandfather who risked everything for freedom and every Canadian whose heritage and home are being eroded before their eyes.
Wake up, Canada. It’s time to change how we are doing absolutely everything. Our country is collapsing because we’re too damn polite. I don’t know about you, but I’m done. Assimilate, learn the language, learn our customs, cut the shit and stop bringing everything you left in your home country behind for a reason.
Or get out.
KELSI SHEREN.
The majority of my co-workers are foreigners who barely speak English. I am lucky as a native born young Canadian to even have a job, as so many companies prefer to hire newcomers to Canada who don't know the local customs. This should be incredibly alarming for anyone who cares about the future of our country.
Fantastic piece Kelsi. I came to this country 25 years ago and I agree with every point you've made.
I while back I wrote a piece making the case for immigrant assimilation and the pushback I got from Canadian friends.
