Dying with Dignity is asking to permanently REMOVE THE SUICIDE PREVENTION HOTLINE
There are moments when a line gets crossed so cleanly that pretending otherwise becomes a kind of lie.
Calling for the abolition of suicide prevention is one of those moments. In my opinion one of the darker moments just happened. A society is in trouble when suicide prevention is framed as the problem. Thats what Dying with Dignity, the death cult just did. When a hotline meant to keep people alive is recast as an obstacle, we’re no longer talking about care. We’re watching death get normalized as the answer to suffering.
That is exactly what a “dying with dignity” organization is now arguing for: the abolition of suicide prevention services on the grounds that talking people out of killing themselves interferes with autonomy.
Read that slowly, please. They are not asking for better care. They are asking for less resistance to death. This cult and their willingness to kill is no longer surprising to me, it’s normal. Their lust for death is dark, fuelled by hate and destruction and the more I know of them, the darker it gets. Suicide Prevention exists because crisis is not clarity and the suicide hotline exists for one reason: to keep people alive through moments of acute crisis.
Not forever. Not by force. Not by denying suffering.
It exists because despair narrows perception. Because people in crisis are often responding to pain, isolation, fear, or exhaustion—not a settled, informed desire to die and anyone who have been suicidal knows this to be fact. We never wanted to die, we just wanted the pain to stop. Those two things are fundamentally different.
Anyone who has lived through deep psychological distress knows this. Anyone who has worked with trauma knows this. Anyone who has lost someone to suicide knows this. To argue that talking someone out of killing themselves is a violation of autonomy is to fundamentally misunderstand what crisis is. It’s a simple lack of understanding and personally I believe it’s participating in death.
Or worse—to understand it and ignore it.
The death cult’s argument relies on collapsing distinctions that matter. Despair is treated as consent. Suicidality is treated as terminal illness, WHICH IT IS NOT and a bad day is treated as a final decision.
Those are not philosophical disagreements. They are category errors with life-and-death consequences, ones that Dying with Dignity doesn’t want you to understand. We have never treated people in acute crisis as fully autonomous decision-makers in any other domain of medicine or ethics. We intervene precisely because judgment is compromised. That is what the 72 hr hold is for.
Removing that safeguard doesn’t expand freedom. It abandons people at the exact moment they need support most.
Medical assistance in dying (murder and poisoning by your Dr) was introduced to the public under very narrow conditions: last resort, terminal illness, extreme suffering. Now that same framework is being used to justify removing suicide prevention entirely.
That’s not progress, it’s a damn wrecking ball to everything we have built as a society. SUICIDE CAN BE STOPPED. PEOPLE CAN HEAL. If the logic is that any attempt to interrupt suicide is oppression, then therapy becomes coercion. Intervention becomes violence. Care becomes control.
At that point, the ideology no longer serves people—it serves outcomes and the outcome it serves is death, it saves this government money and a hell of a lot of it.
What kind of movement opposes life saving support? Ill tell you what, a death cult who masquerades as saviours who really just wants to kill you while your love ones watch. This is the question no one pushing this argument wants to answer directly.
What kind of ethical framework requires fewer barriers to death, less time for reflection and no one allowed to say “wait”. Because that is what abolishing suicide hotlines actually does. When a society cannot or will not care for its suffering, it starts offering exits instead. Quietly. Bureaucratically. With soothing language. This is nothing more than abandonment.
We have been here before people, history is not subtle here. Once death is framed as a solution, pressure replaces choice. At first it’s implicit. Then it becomes explicit. “You’re suffering.” “You’re expensive.” “You wouldn’t want to be a burden.”
This does not start with coercion. It starts with rhetoric. With moral language that numbs people into accepting things they would have rejected outright ten years ago.
Calling to dismantle suicide prevention is not a neutral policy position. It is a declaration that some lives are no longer worth interrupting despair for. This cult wants you and your loved ones DEAD. PERIOD.
Words matter here more than ever. If an organization advocates for removing suicide prevention infrastructure, the honest label is not “progressive” or “compassionate.”
It is death cult logic.
Any belief system that treats death as the answer to suffering has already lost the plot, tethers cut and they are completely out to lunch. The devil has taken over here and darkness has clouded their judgement.
We can acknowledge pain without surrendering to nihilism. We can debate assisted dying without erasing the value of intervention. We can talk about dignity without discarding humanity.
Once you argue that people shouldn’t even be talked out of killing themselves, you are no longer defending choice.
You are defending death and that deserves resistance—not silence.
Dying with Dignity is a DEATH CULT, make no mistake and it’s time we shut them down before their promote killing your family next.

Kelsi, you refer to DWD Canada asking to remove the suicide prevention hotline, but you don't provide a source article. I searched online, but found no such article. Would you please provide your source for those of us wanting to know more.
